Description
This peated Highland single malt opens with rich aromas of a summer campfire and hints of bright citrus zest. On the palate, it?s full of baked fruit and biscuits, with hints of salted taffy and ginger, sustained by persistent smoke throughout.Torfa is old Norse for ?peat,? and this Scotch delivers on that promise with delicacy and finesse. Light golden in the glass, the nose shows a vanilla aroma tinged with peat smoke and oak accents. The palate is bright and briny up front, with a peat smoke character becoming more pronounced with each successive sip. That smoky-saline balance provokes cravings for oysters and aged cheeses.The pale yellow color of this single malt belies the brooding, chocolatey aromas that emerge from the glass. Lively and bright in the mouth, it?s all pepper and high-toned fruit. Peated and malty with a long, savory finish. Colour: Gleaming yellow gold.
Nose: Vivid, sweet, sooty campfire smoke and sea air infuses zest of lime, apricot jam and ripe soft fruits; all gently warmed by hints of stem ginger and cracked black pepper.
Palate: An eloquent, sweet coastal peat smoke engulfs candied peel over melon, pineapple and roasted red apples. Oat biscuits, hints of heather honey and a gentle cigar box spice all combine to give a terrific balance to the expressive smoky character.
Finish: A heady, yet elegant, harmony of distinct coastal peat and striking spiced fruit flavours.
