Benriach ‘The Twenty One’ is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, crafted from both unpeated and peated spirits. Originating from the heart of Speyside, it is matured for 21 years in a blend of bourbon barrels, sherry casks, virgin oak, and Bordeaux red wine casks. This careful maturation allows the whisky to evolve, softening its signature Speyside smoke and enriching it with layers of fruit, malt, and oak. Each cask contributes unique flavors, expertly married to create a perfectly balanced whisky.
On the nose, it reveals vibrant notes of berry fruit, orchard apples, wild honey, and mountain oak spice. The palate follows with candied grape, rich cocoa, and smoked pine nuts, leading to a lingering finish of caramelized pear and gentle honey smoke. The whisky’s honey-gold color reflects its natural cask influence, free from artificial coloring, with an alcohol content of 46%. Its smoke level remains subtle, enhancing complexity without overwhelming the other elements.
